SA Braai Valentine's Dish by La Merenda’s Chef Peter Sandroni

  1. • 1 cup onion (sweet yellow or large red)
  2. • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  3. • 2 TBS dry white wine
  4. • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  5. • ½ Sweet red pepper
  6. • Fresh Rosemary or Thyme for garnish - optional
  7. • 1/2 cup SA Braai Mild Chutney
  8. • 1 Lb. SA Braai Boerewors Sausage
  9. • 1 TBS olive oil
  1. Fully cook Boerewors sausage links in pan or grill, drain & let rest while preparing sauce.
  2. Chop onion & red peppers and sauté in pan with olive oil.
  3. Mix in garlic & white wine
  4. Increase heat to medium/high, add chutney & whipping cream.  Mix to create the sauce.
  5. Once mixed together reduce heat & let simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Slice Boerewors sausage that was cooked early and mix within sauce or serve on top.
  7. Serve sauce over noodles or rice.
  8. You can garnish with a fresh herb if desired.
